St. Paul mounties arrest two, recover stolen vehicles

RCMP in St. Paul are saying two men have been charged after a search warrant turned up stolen vehicles from various parts of Alberta. Police are saying they began their investigation after noticing some trafficking of stolen property. Eventually mounties from St. Paul were able to get a search warrant for a home in Saddle Lake.

It was at that home where mounties say they found around four stolen vehicles as well as some parts for vehicles. The vehicles were originally reported stolen in places like Bonnyville, Camrose, Bruderheim and Lloydminster. Police are also saying some drugs and weapons including a prohibited firearm were found.

RCMP are saying a 44 year old and 19 year old, both from Saddle Lake, have been taken into custody and are facing charges including trafficking stolen property among others. They’ll both be in St. Paul Provincial Court on June 21st.

“The St. Paul RCMP recognized the need to apprehend these individuals that are alleged to be responsible for multiple property and drug offences,” says Staff Sergeant Corey Blize, Detachment Commander of the St. Paul RCMP. “We will continue to gather intelligence on criminals involved in these types of offences as part of a larger crime reduction strategy.”
