The deadline for nominations for the Cold Lake Hall of Fame is coming up fast.
Started just this year, the hall of fame aims to honour the city’s most notable citizens in five categories: Athlete, Artist, Community Leader, Builder and Team/Organization. Up to two nominees from each category will be inducted every year.
May 1st is the deadline for nominations this year. Nomination forms can be picked up at the reception desk at the Energy Centre or found online here. Forms are submitted to the Recreation and Culture Committee (RCAC) for review. Nominees may not be inducted in the same year they are nominated (with the exception of this first year) and nomination forms are valid for a period of three years.
From there the RCAC will select two inductees from each category, that will then have to be approved by council. A ceremony for those selected will be held at the Reid Field House of the Energy Centre every year, this year’s falling on November 4th. Inductees will also have a plaque with photo and bio placed at the Energy Centre as well as on the City website.
