Glendon School Cake Auction Raising Funds For House Fire Victims

Glendon School is hosting their annual cake auction on April 6th, with this year’s proceeds going to a very great cause.

“This year we’re going to be donating the proceeds to the Gardipee-Somers-Horton family,” says teacher Brittany Norton, who’s organizing the event. “They’re a family in our school whose home recently burned down, so we’re just going to try and raise as many proceeds as we can to help them out.”

Doors will open at 6:30pm and auction will start at 7:00pm. The school is looking for as many cakes to be donated as possible. “The only thing we really require for cakes is just that there’s an ingredient list, just for allergy awareness purposes.

“We’re looking for people to show up as well. Even if you don’t want to bid on some cakes just come out and show your support.”

Norton has an idea for potential cake donators as well. “This year’s theme is ‘Mother Nature.’ So if someone is decorating a cake, it’s fun to try and somehow fit it in with the theme.”
