Operation Red Nose Ready for Another Year in Cold Lake

Operation Red Nose is back for a sixth year in Cold Lake and they’re hoping to break last year’s record number of rides.

“Last year we only had nine nights of operation and we had 203 rides, which was a record,” says Program Manager with Cold Lake Victim Services Dave Zimmerman, who’s coordinating the effort. Impaired driving incidents in Cold Lake over the holiday season were more than halved as well. The volunteer program drives people – and their vehicles – back home for free. “Donations are graciously accepted,” Zimmerman adds. “They go towards children and teenage victims of crime or tragedy.”

Volunteers are still needed. The operation begins tonight (Nov 25th,) and runs on the 26th, as well as December 2nd and 3rd, 9th and 10th, 16th and 17th, 23rd, 30th and 31st. Those interested in helping out can go to http://www.operationrednosecoldlake.com/ for more information.
