Domestic Dispute and Truck Theft Intertwined

A Cold Lake RCMP member was dropping off a woman involved in a domestic dispute on the 13th when, to make matters worse she saw her own truck on drive past them on the road.

The man in the dispute was still at the detachment at the time, so the officer decided to treat the situation as a theft. The truck was tracked down a short time later with the woman behind the wheel appearing to be intoxicated. RCMP asked for her to give a breath sample, but she refused.

The 20-year-old woman has been charged with failing to provide breath samples on an approved screening device. Further investigation revealed that she was an acquaintance of the woman being returned home and was present during the domestic dispute. The victim chose not press charges on the theft.
