In honour of the community’s response to the Fort McMurray wildfire evacuation this past May, Lac La Biche is hosting two County Proud community appreciation events, one this Friday and the other the next.
This Friday’s event will be at the Festival Centre in Plamondon from 5 to 8 and the next will be at the Bold Centre in Lac La Biche. Both events will feature a free meal, live entertainment, door prizes, children’s activities and more. A Movie in the Park will follow at 8:30 Lac La Biche will have a drive-in experience in the back parking lot, screening “The Jungle Book.” Mayor Omer Mograhbi and fire chief John Kokotilo will give speeches at both events as well.
Whether or not the events will become an annual tradition is unknown at this time. “We’re not sure yet,” says Communications Officer Jihad Mograhbi, “We’re going to see how this goes. We’ll just play it by ear for now.”
