Many Lakeland residents are in need of a little assistance clearing their walk ways as the snow falls. Local FCSS branches in the Lakeland have designed a program, called Snow Angels, to help those who cannot otherwise clear their driveways and sidewalks of snow. Anyone wishing to volunteer to become a snow angel is asked to either pop by or contact your local FCSS branch (so the FCSS has a record of the snow angels). There are no restrictions on who can help out, as long as the volunteer is physically able to shovel. The program is intended to help seniors, those with disabilities, or mothers with young children whose spouses are away, for example those who are deployed in the military.
