A 14-year-old girl is safe after a man attempted to abduct her in Bonnyville yesterday.
A 50 something white male grabbed the girl in a back lane near 46 avenue and 47 street and tried to get her into his red minivan, She was able to escape after fighting with him and got back home. Police looked around for the suspect but were unable to track him down.
Staff Sargent Luis Gandolfi says “These types of occurrences concern us all. In this case the young person did exactly what she should have by resisting the suspect and fleeing to a nearby residence. We’re taking this complaint very seriously and investigating all avenues possible. Anyone with information on a red minivan resembling a Ford Windstar that is being driven by a male matching the description is asked to phone Bonnyville RCMP at 780-826-3358, Cst.
