A 39-year-old Cold Lake man is facing charges after an alleged insurance fraud.
The man reported his vehicle stolen to Cold Lake RCMP back in February. It was discovered in a nearby field the following day. After jointly investigating with the insurance company, police discovered the man had been involved in a hit and run with a parked car with the same day. They believe he lied about the vehicle being stolen to collect insurance money.
The man will appear in court on September 28th.
