Multiple groups around the Lakeland are raising funds for Fort McMurray Evacuees, including the Bonnyville Steel Vixens bike club.
The group is set up at Superior Safety in Bonnyville both today and tomorrow accepting donations. Sue Turner with the group says they have more than enough clothes and what’s really needed is perishables such as food and diapers. Cash is the most preferred donation of all though. The group plans to drive down to Edmonton with the donations where they’ll be distributed.
While these efforts are appreciated, officials stress that a cash donation to the Red Cross is the best way to help those in need right now.
