A 28-year-old Muriel Lake man has been charged with taking a car without the owner’s consent from a Kehewin Residence.
Police say that not long after making off in the vehicle, he rolled it over in the Redwater area and was taken to hospital by a good Samaritan. Redwater RCMP paid the hospital a visit and took the suspect into custody once he was ready to be released.
Taking a vehicle without consent varies from normal car theft slightly in that it is generally applied when the suspect and victim know each other and the suspect only plans to use the vehicle for a temporary length of time.
