A special weather statement was issued by the Government of Canada warning the Lakeland the weekend will get hot.
The statement says the hot and dry conditions will begin this weekend with daytime highs sitting close to 30 degrees which would be 10 to 15 degrees above seasonal values.
The highest temperatures are expected from Sunday through Tuesday.
The Government of Canada says with elevated temperatures, the risk of heat-related illnesses increases. Everyone is asked to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
