The Bonnyville Pontiacs have started the second round of 2022-23 playoffs with a bang.
The Yaks have taken both games one and two in the playoff series vs The Whitecourt Wolverines. Game one saw the teams clash back and forth with the puck finding the back of both nets. The game ended up running into overtime tied at three a piece until Pontiac number 15 Jack Budd was able to score bringing home the win.
Game two was a completely different story as the Pontiacs were able to shut the Wolverines out despite being outshot 32 to 29. The Yaks scored once per period and just kept building on their lead.
Now the Pontiacs have two games playing at home at the R. J. Lalonde Arena with Games 3, Tuesday, March 28th, and Game 4 March 29th at 7:00 pm.
If the Pontiacs win this will be the first time the team has made 3rd round since the team lost to the Spruce Grove Saints in the 2014-2015 playoffs.
