School Bus Traffic in the Lakeland

School is back in session in the Lakeland. Lakelanders take note there will be an increase of traffic in the mornings as students are headed back to class and between 3:00 and 4:00 in the afternoon as students are heading home for the day. School buses will also be on the roads and highways.  Motorists are being reminded of the laws regarding school buses. When you see the school bus with the yellow lights activated, it means the bus is slowing and will soon stop. If the red light is flashing the bus is stopped and allowing students on and off, it is illegal to pass a school bus when it is stopped. The fine for passing a school bus with the red lights activated is $402.00 plus 6 demerit points.
