While many Laklanders are looking forward to another Christmas with lots of gifts next month, tough economic times mean there are growing number who may not.
If you’re still doing well this season and want to help out a less fortunate family, you can get in touch with Sheila Parks in St. Paul, who runs the Adopt a Family Christmas Program in her spare time.
Signing up for the program means you’ll be providing presents to a family who may not be able to buy them for their children themselves. Parks says while she connects adopters and adopteees, it’s the kindness of others that makes it all work.
If you’re interested, you can either speak to Sheila at her day job at the St. Paul Parent Link Centre or contact her cell at 780-614-1304.
