Cold Lake got a taste of the zombie apocalypse yesterday in support for the local Food Bank.
The city saw its second annual zombie walk rampage through the streets. Walkers with their faces painted grey and covered in fake blood and wounds clawed at windows, stumbled towards cars and gave onlookers a playful spook. Afterwards, the zombies headed to the Edge Sports Lounge where they watched the season premier of the walking dead.
All money raised from the walk was donated to the Cold Lake food bank. Organizer Erynne Bailey says they have big plans for next year’s walk. “A battle of some kind,” might be incorporated.
I was no small feat for the walk to even happen at all this year. The previous organizer was unable to continue running the event, leaving Erynne and Alex Fitch just two weeks to take over and finish preperations.
