The City of Cold Lake is ready to do battle against a common foe. The city announced Thursday that it would begin spraying herbicide for Common Tansy in certain areas. The weed is extremely invasive and can be toxic to livestock in certain quantities.
The city says some trouble areas will be sprayed first including around 54th Avenue, The Tri-City area by the mall and 16th Avenue near Highway 28.
The spraying is expected to start June 3rd and run to the 6th. Officials say to stay out of areas that have been sprayed for at least 24 hours.
The city says signage should be up before the process begins to help keep residents safe.
