The Bonnyville and District Museum is open for the season. The museum opened its doors to the public for 2019 on Monday. Renee Baker is the Museum Technician and Coordinator for this year. She says the wheels are in motion on events at the museum including Canada Day.
“We are already planning our big Canada Day celebration that will take place on July 1st. We do the opening ceremonies before the parade.”
Planning for the Seniors Day, which was held last year on June 8th, is also in the early stages. Baker says the museum is still a popular destination for school groups.
“We have a lot of classes that like to come in for field trips, so we let them have a look around.”
The museum was started back in 1991 by the Bonnyville and District Historical Society. Its hours are Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM to 3 PM.
More information on the museum is available at its official website.
