Another name has been added while one has been taken away from the provincial ballot in the Lakeland. The voting ballot was finalized last Friday by Elections Alberta. Added to the list of candidates for the riding of Bonnyville – Cold Lake – St. Paul is Alberta Independence Party member David Garnett-Bennett. Garnett- Bennett makes his home in Elk Point and is listed as the owner of an oil and gas-related hauler company online.
Coming off the ballot is Freedom Conservative Party member Jim McKinnon. McKinnon was announced by the party as their candidate in the riding back on March 22nd. Since then, McKinnon has been changed on the official party website and is now listed as instead running in the riding of Vermilion – Lloydminster – Wainwright. The Freedom Conservative Party could not be reached for comment.
Garnett- Bennett joins Alberta Party candidate Glenn Andersen, United Conservative Party member David Hanson, New Democratic Party candidate Kari Whan, Alberta Advantage Party member David Inscho and Independent candidate Kacey Daniels.
The Lakeland will go to the polls on April 16th.
