It’s how cold?: Environment Canada says -40 windchill till Wednesday

Environment Canada says these ultra-cold temps are going to stick around for at least the next few days. An extreme cold warning has been in effect for most of Sunday around the Lakeland. Weather experts say cold air is very slowly making its way south.

The three-day forecast shows temps dropping down to -32 Celcius with windchills over -40. Environment Canada says to watch for cold-related symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with the wind chill.
