New Portage market will offer students creations

A new place to grab some grub in the Lakeland is opening up soon. Portage College has announced its St. Paul campus will open a market starting February 14th. The new shop will feature food and drinks made by the students from the Culinary Arts and Baking student. Dean of Food Sciences and St. Paul Campus Manager Beverly Lockett says the market is a long time coming.

“The College has been working towards this venture since the Food Sciences Centre opened in St. Paul. We are so excited to be able to officially open the Portage Market and to keep it open five days a week.”

The store will be open Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm to start. The selection of food will change from month to month to reflect what the students learn throughout the year. Certain catering services will also be available.

The Valentine’s Day grand opening will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony and cake and coffee. It gets started at 2 pm.
