The MD of Bonnyville says voices need to be heard on Bill C-69. Council has sent out a release urging the public to talk to their political representation with concerns about the federal legislation. The bill, which has politicians from the Lakeland saying could be a nail in the coffin of the oil and gas sector, has been described as “unclear” and may cause energy business to dwindle.
The bill passed first reading in the House of Commons in Ottawa in February. Cold Lake sent concerns to Ottawa at the end of November after a motion in council The MD council also shared concerns with the Prime Minister in a letter that can be read here.
