Wagner suspect sentenced to five years

A woman who had been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 83-year-old Alfred Wagner will spend at least two more years in jail. Arizona Chastity Frenchman had pled guilty to manslaughter in May. On November 23rd in St. Paul Provincial court Justice Peter Michalyshyn sentenced Frenchman to a total of five years and 55 days incarcerated. She will also face three years probation.

Frenchman has spent the last two years in jail. Justice Michalyshyn says her time in custody since her 2016 arrest is credited against her sentence, putting her release date sometime in 2021. Frenchman, along with her brother Frank James Frenchman were jointly charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Wagner. Frank James Frenchman will stand trial on second-degree murder charges in St. Paul in March.
