Nominations are open for an award honouring Alberta’s young. The 19th Great Kids awards celebrate children who have overcome adversity and made their cities and towns better places. Past winners include 12-year-old Quinlan Bridge Grandbois from Cold Lake as well as 11-year-old Jadah Sparklingeyes from Lac La Biche.
Albertans can nominate children from the age of five to 18. Some achievements could include volunteering, fundraising or even overcoming illness. The awards are due to be handed out at the Fantasyland Hotel in Edmonton next spring. Nominations will close November 30th.
