Glendon Fire Ball set to dazzle for a cause

The Glendon Fire Department is hoping for a big turnout on their big night. The Glendon Station Fundraiser Ball on October 20th will feature dinner, cocktails, dancing and more as the local firefighters look to raise some coin for their station.

Firefighter Derek Cote says all the money they take in on the night will go to equipping a new addition to the service. Glendon is currently in the process of buying a new fire truck for the village.

“[We’ll be] getting new gear, getting new hose, stuff like that. The truck that we have doesn’t have a lot of this stuff, so this all goes directly to the town truck.”

Local group Midlife Crisis is tapped to play late into the night at the RCMP Century Hall. Cote says those who are coming don’t have to worry if they have a bit too much fun.

“There will be rides provided for you and your vehicle if you request it. I’ll have six drivers there offering rides.”

It will be a formal dress affair. Tickets for the ball are now available at multiple locations around the Lakeland. The fun gets started at 5:30 pm
