Car was doing 177 km/hr: St. Paul mounties

Police in St. Paul say four people have been charged after officers found a vehicle doing 177 kilometres an hour on Highway 29. Mounties say in the early morning hours of September 10th a unit on patrol spotted the speeding vehicle. Police decided not to chase the car due to public safety concerns. Police caught up to the car shortly after near Range Road 112.

The car was found to be stolen from Edmonton and had a license plate that was also stolen. Mounties say they found drugs and weapons during a search of the car.

An 18-year-old from Saddle Lake as well as three minors as young as 13 are now facing a variety of charges including possession of stolen property and drug possession. All are due in St. Paul court in the month of September.
