St. Paul mounties arrest man armed with knife

RCMP in St. Paul is saying a man is now in custody after an what they call a violent incident in Saddle Lake. Police say on August 23rd they received a call for assistance. When they arrived at a home in Saddle Lake, mounties say they found a man armed with a knife and wielding it in a violent manner.

RCMP is saying the man took off on foot when confronted. Mounties tracked the man with help from the St. Paul Police Dog services. He was arrested without incident shortly after.

An 18-year-old man from Saddle Lake now faces charges that include assault on a police officer with a weapon. He’ll stay in police custody and see St. Paul court today.
