Fleeing man leads to arrest and recovery in La Corey

Bonnyville RCMP have recovered two stolen vehicles after a man running from police ended with a search warrant and his arrest. On March 2nd at around 2 pm, mounties headed to a rural home in La Corey to follow up on some reported stolen goods from oil lease sites the previous evening.

When police arrived, a man who was known to the mounties jumped in a truck and headed into a field behind the property. The truck was found later parked on the side of a nearby road. When RCMP moved in, the man fled by foot into a wooded area. The truck was found to have been stolen in St. Paul the day prior.

The man was later arrested without incident after a police dog was called out. Police then executed a search warrant later in the day on the property. They say they found another vehicle stolen from Vegreville in January. Both vehicles were seized by the RCMP

A 28 year old Ardmore man is facing a variety of charges including possession of property obtained by a crime and dangerous driving among others. He’s due in Bonnyville provincial court today.
