Community policing surveys still open to residents

Residents who didn’t make it to last week’s regional crime panel can still have their say on enforcement in the community. All Bonnyville residents are being asked to fill out a Community Policing Survey, which can be found on the town’s website.

It asks for feedback on experiences with the Bonnyville RCMP detachment in the past year, as well as what policing issues are of concern. The town also wants to know what areas residents want officers to focus on, and what programs they should be involved with.

The online survey will be taken until December 31st. Residents who get monthly water bills should have gotten a physical copy in the mail.

The MD of Bonnyville is also running a survey on crime in the region. It looks to find out what residents see as the biggest crime problem in their neighbourhood, and their thoughts on Rural Crime Watch or Neighbourhood Watch programs.

The results will be used by council in its lobbying to the provincial and federal governments.
