Photo Radar Might Still Have Legs in St. Paul

Despite voting sixty percent in favour of scrapping photo radar at the municipal election, St. Paul might not be doing away with the practice quite yet.

New Mayor Maureen Miller said that council will hear from Global Traffic Solutions – the company that runs the program- before committing to dropping their services. Miller says she wants to learn more about how the program has improved public safety and how much revenue it generates for the town before coming to a final decision.

41 percent of each ticket goes to the Province of Alberta, while 40 percent goes to Global Traffic and 19 percent to the town.
