Cold Lake City allocates $41,000 in grant funding to support local nonprofit organizations

In a recent announcement, Cold Lake City Mayor Craig Copeland revealed that the city council has approved the allocation of $41,000 in grant funding to assist two local non-profit organizations. The decision underscores the city’s commitment to supporting community initiatives and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.

Expressing appreciation for the invaluable contributions of these organizations, Copeland emphasized the significance of the grant program in extending financial assistance where it’s most needed. He stated, “The organizations do so much for our community. Through the grant program we’re able to help and distribute funding as much as we can.”

Given the newly outlined grant criteria, which limit organizations to one grant per calendar year from the city, Hearts for Healthcare and MS Canada have been selected as recipients for this round of funding.

Hearts for Healthcare will receive $40,000. A noteworthy stipulation of this funding is that $14,500 is specifically earmarked to support the acquisition of Laparoscopic Hysterectomy equipment, an essential addition to the organization’s wish list. This allocation underscores the city’s commitment to advancing healthcare infrastructure and service within the community.

Additionally, MS Canada, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and supporting individuals affected by multiple sclerosis, will be awarded a grant of $1,000. This sponsorship is designated to support the upcoming Skijoring for MS event, a testament to the city’s support for initiatives that promote health and wellness within the community.

The Community Recreation, Art, Culture, and Heritage Investment Grant program is a vital resource for organizations seeking financial assistance for community-oriented projects and initiatives. Further information about this grant program, including eligibility criteria and application procedures, can be accessed on the city’s official website at www.coldlake.com/grants.
