During their regular meeting on January 23, the city council unanimously approved becoming a Diamond-level sponsor for the Kids Time Out Diamonds and Studs Gala, pledging $4,000 from the Community Recreation, Art Culture and Heritage Investment Grant. Additionally, they secured a table of tickets for $520 and committed to donating a silent auction item.
Deputy Mayor Bob Mattice emphasized the importance of supporting childcare in the community stating, “Childcare in our community can be difficult to find right now for children that are in pre-school or younger. This event is an important fundraiser for this non-profit organization.”
This year’s gala, themed after Mardi Gras, welcomes all adults interested in purchasing tickets to attend.
During a delegation to the council, Kids Time Out Preschool highlighted a significant increase in enrollment this year, prompting them to extend full-day hours to accommodate working families. They outlined plans to utilize the funds from the gala for new equipment and renovations, including upgrades to bathrooms and sidewalks.
