Non-life threatening injuries reported following three vehicle collision on Highway 660

Several people were injured following a three vehicle collision on Highway 660 at Range Road 455 on Monday night.

Bonnyville RCMP says an investigation into the incident, which slowed traffic to a crawl for several hours, determined a pick-up truck traveling north on Range Road 455 had allegedly failed to proceed safety into the intersection after stopping and collided with tanker truck. The collision then caused another semi truck to lose control and jackknife into the ditch.

Police say the driver of the pick-up truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the tanker truck were assessed on scene for minor injuries, while the third driver involved was not injured.

Police say the investigation continues, and criminal charges are pending, as it’s believed alcohol was a factor in the collision.
