The Cold Lake City Council has given its approval to three grants recommended by the Community Grant Advisory Committee in the latest round of applications for the fall of 2023.
After thoroughly reviewing five applications submitted under the City of Cold Lake’s Community Recreation, Arts, Culture, and Heritage Investment Grant Policy, the committee determined that three proposals met the established criteria and should be presented to the council for official approval.
These approved grants amount to a total of $23,000. The committee identified that two applications failed to meet the criteria, with one lacking sufficient information and the other being deemed ineligible for the program.
The approved grants from the 2023 fall intake include:
The Age-Friendly Cold Lake Society: $10,000 under the Community Incentive Grant stream to support the 4th Annual Ice Fishing Tournament.
The Lakeland Multicultural Association: $10,000 under the Community Incentive Grant stream to support its 6th Annual Diwali Night Event.
The Wild North Eclectic Society: $3,000 under the Arts, Culture, and Heritage stream to support the Punk in the Patch event at the Reid Field House. The grant will allocate a combination of in-kind support through facility rental and a cash grant.
