As of May 5th, the MD of Bonnyville including Summer Village of Bonnyville Beach, Summer Village of Pelican Narrows and the Village of Glendon are under a fire ban and OHV restriction.
With the restriction all active fire permits are cancelled, and no new permits will be issued. All open fires including campfires are prohibited, along with fireworks, charcoal briquettes and fireworks. Under the ban residents are allowed to use portable propane fire pits and gas or propane stoves and barbeques, all with the proper certification and approvals. Infared heaters will also be allowed.
Under the off-highway vehicle restriction, any off-road vehicles will not be allowed for recreational use on public lands.
The ban and restriction issued by the MD of Bonnyville comes after the provincial government issued a province wide ban Friday morning.
