Over 300 Lakeland students will be put to the test in Lac La Biche on April 11th. The Northern Lights Public School division is readying for another Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) Challenge.
Students from grade six to nine will be split into teams to solve three challenges. Last year had the students making a paper arm that would hold coins in a bucket as well as a paper airplane that could hold an egg and not break it.
“Our students look forward to this event every year,” said Board Chair Arlene Hrynyk. “It gives them an opportunity to apply what they are learning in their classrooms, have fun, and meet other students from across the division.”
The day is hosted at the Bold Centre. Local companies like Canadian Natural and Cenovus help sponsor it every year.
