Cold Lake’s plans to build an artificial turf field behind Imperial Oil Place have increased in estimated costs by five million dollars up to eleven.
The increased costs are largely due to more ambitious plans for the grandstand, including more ambitious landscaping, roadways, entrance features, multi purpose rooms at the back of the stands, and geotechnical investigations.
The new design will give the city the option of putting a dome over the field in the future. The completed field will be used for a variety of outdoor sports as well as concerts. Work is expected to begin this fall.
