Cold Lake RCMP are looking for suspects in an attempted ATM theft that left them without any cash and the store with major damage. Around 11:15 p.m. on July 13th, a red or burgundy Ford F-250 backed through the glass doors to the Sobeys in Cold Lake and tried to pull the ATM out with a tow rope.
When the two thieves realized the machine was empty, they tried to flee the scene, but the grocery store’s door was still attached to the truck. The ATM was not. Eventually, the door flew off and landed in the yard of a home nearby.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Cold Lake RCMP or Crime Stoppers. The suspect truck had no front bumper and had a black tailgate.
