Cold Lake Provincial Park Getting Upgrades

Alberta has announced that Cold Lake Provincial Park will be receiving some upgrades as part of a 55 million dollar spend by the province across the whole system.

The funding is part of a five-year, $239-million plan to revitalize and expand the provincial parks system after ehat the government calls “years of underfunding that left shelters, roads and sewers in poor condition.”

“Albertans want more places to camp and hike with their families and better facilities and playgrounds when they get there. We’re investing so all Albertans can get out and enjoy our beautiful wild spaces, ” said Minister of Environment and Parks Shannon Phillips in a statement.

The province says they’ll be developing backcountry campsites at Cold Lake.
