The town of Bonnyville is inviting residents to a full day of Canada Day fun, with live music, food, and fireworks on July 1.
Festivities will start with a pancake breakfast in the Sobeys parking lot from 8 to 11 a.m., followed by opening ceremonies at the Bonnyville and District Museum at 11 a.m. The Canada Day Parade is set to start at 3 p.m. down Main Street with a Party in the Park at Little Leap Park starting at 5 p.m.
The Party in the Park will feature food trucks, bounce castles, balloon man, beer gardens and more.
Live entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. with the Kehewin Native Dance Theatre, kids entertainment at 8 p.m., the Rivard Sisters at 8:30 p.m., Buckhorn Steel at 9 p.m., and Canadian country artist Charlie Major headlining the event at 10. The evening will finish with fireworks at dusk.
Local businesses, non-profits, sports teams, and community groups are encouraged to join the parade. Registration is open for floats, vehicles, and walking groups, and you can register through the towns website.
