The town of Bonnyville has announced that Quinton Wintfley will be stepping in as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), bringing new perspective to the community.
Born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, Wintfley moved to Canada as a child and has lived in multiple provinces before coming to Alberta. He has a degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Lethbridge and joined the Alberta Municipal Internship Program where he served as Assistant CAO for the Village of Consort. Over the past 10 years he has worked in both public and private sectors, most recently spending six years as CAO for the town of Coronation.
“This position has taught me a great deal about small-town politics and the intricacies of polarization and internal political dynamics,” Wintfley said. “The challenges faces within the complex environment of a small town have provided lasting lessons that I will carry with me into the future.”
As CAO for the town of Bonnyville, he will lead the municipality collaboratively with a community-first mindset. “As a younger CAO, this is a chance to make a meaningful impact and to be part of something with enormous potential. The possibilities for growth, innovation and collaboration are incredibly exciting.
Mayor Elisa Brosseau was thrilled to welcome Wintfley to Bonnyville as the new CAO saying, “Quinton’s energy and experience align well with council’s vision. We’re confident he will hit the ground running and become an integral part of both our organization and the community we serve. We are excited for what lies ahead and look forward to the great work we’ll accomplish together.”
Wintfley will officially begin his new role with the town on June 16.
