Two men are facing charges after a police chase near St. Paul on the evening of June 4.
Around 9 p.m., St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious truck at a business on the east end of town. The vehicle fled when officers arrived on scene.
“In collaboration with the Elk Point RCMP, the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, and RCMP Police Dog Services, police were able to use a spike belt to stop the vehicle, and find the occupants, who has fled onto a property east fo St. Paul,” according to information released by RCMP.
Two men were arrested and charged.
Justin Robert Gervan, a 32-year-old Andrew resident is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, no pursuit involve – flight from peace officer, resist/obstruct a peace officer, mischief equal to or under $5,000 – damage to motor vehicle, and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.
Kobi Austan Lane Rosichuk, a 28-year-old Bonnyville resident was charged with, no pursuit involved – flight from peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicles, resist/obstruct a peace officer, mischief equal to or under $5,000 – damage to motor vehicle, and three counts of failure to comply with a release order condition.
Both men were remanded into custody following a judicial hearing and are scheduled to appear in St. Paul court of Justice on June 12.
