A 25-year-old Edmonton resident has died following a serious collision between a pickup truck and a semi-truck on Township Road 640, north of La Corey early Tuesday morning.
Bonnyville RCMP, along with emergency responders from the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority, Bonnyville EMS, and MD Bonnyville Public Safety Peace Officers, were called to the scene on April 1.
“Though the incident is still under investigation, preliminary findings suggest that icy roads and freezing rain were the main contributors to the collision,” read the RCMP statement. The road was temporarily closed whole crews responded, but it has since reopened.
The Alberta RCMP expressed their condolences to the victim’s family and friends.
