Cold Lake and Lakeland area residents can expect an increase in air traffic on weekdays between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m..m from January 28 to February 13.
The training exercises will feature Alpha Jets and USAF B-52H Stratofortress aircraft conducting missions as part of planned military operations.
According to 4 Wing Cold Lake, efforts will be made to minimize noise over the city. “4 Wing is always mindful of our Lakeland community neighbour’s, and this type of training is not intended to disrupt,” the statement reads.
The exercises are described as “carefully planned and closely controlled” to ensure public safety. The training is vital for maintaining readiness and operational effectiveness.
Resident are encouraged to be aware of the temporary increase in air activity during the scheduled period.
