In the early hours of June 13, a disturbance on the 4800 block of 43 Street led to significant property damage and the arrest of a 20-year-old male.
Â
The incident began just after 2:00 AM when a Bonnyville resident awoke to find an intoxicated male acquaintance, Calo Berland, allegedly causing a commotion. The homeowner instructed Berland to leave due to his loud behavior, but the suspect became argumentative.
The Bonnyville RCMP were called to the scene and promptly arrested the intoxicated man . As Berland was placed in the back of the police vehicle, a female youth attempted to open the door to free him. The officer quickly secured the door and prevented further obstruction. The female, who became argumentative and non-compliant, was also arrested for obstruction.
Calo Berland faces multiple charges, including assault, four counts of uttering threats, mischief over $5,000, and disobeying a court order related to previous robbery charges. Following a bail hearing, Berland was denied bail and remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 18. Â

The female youth was released to a parent once sober and received a warning for obstruction but was not charged. Â
