Boyle RCMP have apprehended and charged two men, including one from Plamondon, in connection with an arrest made last Wednesday, May 8, following a report of suspicious activity on a rural property.
According to police reports, at approximately five o’clock in the afternoon, authorities received a complaint from the public concerning two suspicious males trespassing on a rural property. Responding swiftly, Boyle RCMP officers arrived at the scene and located two suspects alongside a vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered three firearms, two of which had sawed-off barrels, and a device equipped with a flashlight-taser combination. All items were seized by police.
As a result of the investigation, Timothy Adam Tyson, 39, of Plamondon, faces charges including two counts of possessing a prohibited firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, and one charge of possessing a prohibited weapon for a dangerous purpose. Meanwhile, Darcy Allan Kandt, 33, a resident of Westlock, is charged with three counts of possessing a prohibited weapon, two counts of careless firearm storage, one count of possessing a prohibited firearm for a dangerous purpose, and one count of failing to comply to a court order.
Both Tyson and Kandt were brought before a Justice of the Peace and have been in custody since their arrest. They are scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Boyle on May 28.
