Residents of Cold Lake are advised that squadrons from 4 Wing Cold Lake will be conducting night flying training over the city from April 8 until April 26. This training activity is essential for both aircrew and ground crew and plays a crucial role in maintaining operational readiness.
In a media release issued by the air base, 4 Wing emphasized its commitment to minimizing disruptions to the community during the training period. “4 Wing is always mindful of the Lakeland community, and this type of training is not intended to disrupt your valuable peace and quiet,” stated the release.
Night flying training allows aircrew to hone their skills in low-light conditions, preparing them for nighttime missions, which are integral to the wing’s operational capability. While the training may result in increased aircraft activity during nighttime hours, residents are assured that measures will be taken to mitigate noise disturbances and ensure the safety of both training personnel and the community.
As 4 Wing Cold Lake continues its training regimen, residents are reminded to remain vigilant and aware of increased aircraft activity overhead during the specified period. Residents are encouraged to contact the air base if they have any concerns or require additional information regarding the night flying training activities.
