K-Cow Ranch getting award at Farmfair

A farm family in the Lakeland will be receiving a big award in Edmonton. The Wirsta family operates the K-Cow Ranch west of Elk Point.

They and 12 other families have been chosen to receive the “BMO Farm Family Award” at Farmfair International in Edmonton in November. The ranch is operated by Kevin and Janice and their two children.

Many around the Lakeland have visited the operation during Alberta Open Farm Days in August. Some of the land on the ranch has been in the Wirsta family since 1916.

Farmfair International runs November 6th through the 10th.
