Construction on Cold Lake’s New Fire Hall in Progress

Construction on the new fire hall in Cold Lake is moving along. Pictures have been popping on social media showing the process of the construction on the fire hall, which will be a state-of-the-art facility in Cold Lake.

Currently, the training tower is being erected, which Mayor of Cold Lake Craig Copeland , “what you’re seeing in those pictures in the big trainer tower.” The mayor says when completed the structure will be a showcase for the city, “this fire hall is going to be a showcase building in The City and it’s going to provide fire services and house the ambulance services.”

Mayor Copeland says the fire hall is multi-functional, “it will also be home to the Emergency Response Centre, if there’s ever a major disaster in Cold Lake or area it will the area where people are working out of.” The Mayor says the new building will benefit residents beyond Cold Lake’s borders, “it’s going to be a great feature for Cold Lake and The M.D of Bonnyville,” as the services provided extend to the MD residents.

Mayor Copeland says the new hall is long overdue,  “the fire fighter and ems teams deserve this, they’ve been waiting a long time for a brand new building.” When speaking of the new hall, Mayor Copeland says it brings The City much pride to see the construction underway, “we’re very happy to be able to provide that for them.”

The fire hall is expected to open in 2016, Mayor Copeland says, “we’re all really excited for the Grand Opening, which will probably happen around June, in the Spring of 2016.”
