Cold Lake Sends More Help to Fort Mac

While fire crews from Cold Lake have been battling the Fort McMurray wildfire for some time now, the city is helping the area out in other ways too.

A couple of workers from the water treatment plant and an employee from the Cold Lake & District FCSS are making their way up to help get the city back on its feet as well.

Mayor Craig Copeland says having some out of towners helping will be a huge help, as many municipal government employees there will have a lot on their plate as it is.

“Many of them will be dealing with their own personal issues with the loss of their homes. We are here to support our fellow municipality in any way because we know that they would also do the same for the City of Cold Lake.”
All assistance is being coordinated through the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre.
